Investment on EADS capital, Berlin supports a "private solution"
The German Minister of Economy said Rainer Bruederle Wednesday, February 23 that he "would prefer a private solution"rather than an entry in the state capital of EADS, which the automaker Daimler could disengage.
Asked about the creation of a "golden share", which would allow the German government to hold a veto over changes in capital of EADS, Rainer Bruederle said: "This is a one option, but it's a secret that we prefer a private solution "at a press conference in Berlin. "We want to preserve the Franco-German balance" at EADS, said the minister.
"NO DECISION HAS BEEN TAKEN"
The automaker Daimler holds 15% stake in EADS and 22.5% of voting rights at par with the French group Lagardere ally to the French state. German Chancellor Angela Merkel, Finance Minister Wolfgang Schäuble and Rainer Bruederle met Wednesday to discuss the fate of EADS, while according to press reports, Daimler wants to sell to the state half of its share.
According to the Minister of Economy, member of the Liberal Party and hostile in principle to any partial nationalization, "no decision has been made" at this meeting.
